Steptrovia publishes how-to video tutorials on its own YouTube and TikTok channels. This page explains what data is handled by this website and by the publishing tool Steptrovia uses.
This website
- The site has no accounts, forms, comments, analytics scripts or advertising trackers, and it sets no cookies.
- The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Steptrovia does not use this data to identify visitors.
- If you email hello@steptrovia.com, your address and message are used only to reply to you.
Use of YouTube API Services
Steptrovia uses a private publishing tool that connects to YouTube API Services. The tool has a single user, the channel owner, and is not offered to the public.
- What it does: uploads Steptrovia's own videos to the Steptrovia channel, sets their titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, playlists and publish times, and reads the channel's own video statistics.
- What it accesses: only the Steptrovia channel, with the channel owner's authorization.
- What it does not do: it does not access, collect, store or share data about any other YouTube user, viewer or channel.
- How the data is used: only to publish the channel's own videos and to decide which tutorials to make next. It is not sold, not used for advertising and not shared with third parties.
- Cookies and device data: the tool places no cookies and collects no information from viewers' devices.
Use of YouTube API Services is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
Data storage, retention and deletion
- Where data is stored: the authorization token and the channel's own video statistics are kept in local files on the owner's computer. Nothing is stored on a server.
- Retention: statistics obtained through YouTube API Services are refreshed or deleted within 30 days. The authorization token is kept only while the tool is in use.
- Deletion: the channel owner can delete all stored data at any time by removing the tool's local data files. To request deletion or ask what is stored, write to hello@steptrovia.com; requests are completed within 7 days.
- Revoking access: the tool's access to the channel can be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. After revocation the stored token stops working and is deleted.
Affiliate links
Some links in video descriptions are affiliate links. When you follow one, the destination company and its affiliate network may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. Steptrovia receives only aggregate commission reports and no personal information about you.
Children
Steptrovia's content is general software instruction and is not directed at children under 13.
